LET THE ‘FLIP-FLOPS’ BEGIN! (GOP now stealing Dem’s ideas.)

After denegrating every Democrat comment these past five years, the Republicans have adopted a new strategy: do what the Democrats SAID to do. GOP Senator John Warner even admits he took the Democrats’ proposal and “edited” it. So much for the Democrats not having any ideas. Here are two key GOP reversals:

1. Republican Senators are about to propose a withdrawal plan from Iraq. They’re calling it a “strategy for ending the war.” The only difference is that the GOP isn’t listing a specific deadline, but rather a general time when it should be done. Whatever. It’s still a 180-degree reversal from Bush’s position of staying in Iraq no “matter how long it takes.”

2. GOP Senators are also now willing to “allow terror detainees some access to federal courts.” Judicial due process is a cornerstone of our Bill of Rights. It’s about time the GOP actually honored our American values.

So... There it is. A near-total reversal on two White House positions that Congressional Republicans ferociously supported.

So what does this mean? Does it mean the Democrats DO have the better ideas? Or does it mean the Republican Party has now joined the "far left military-haters who are helping Al Qaida"?
